We are able to organise transfers to/from Dar Imlil. This is arranged with a driver who knows the route and regularly does the run. Please contact us for more details.
The 65 km drive to Dar Imlil normally takes around 1 hour 20 minutes from Marrakech. The first part of the journey follows a generally straight road (R203) to the town of Tahanoute before slowly winding up through the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains.
You then pass through the lively Berber town of Asni which is about 60 minutes from Marrakech, take the first left after the village. Imlil is 17 Km up this road. This road is now tarmac surfaced and can be driven on in an ordinary car. Dar Imlil is next to the bridge
By far the best public transport to get to Imlil from Marrakech is to take a taxi, which has a journey time of 75-90 minutes. There are two options. First, you can hire a private grand taxi. Second, you can find a space in a collective taxi. The collective will leave when it is full, so it is recommended to get there in the morning. The pick-up for the taxi collective is a few hundred meters up the street from the grand taxi station (31.622410, -7.989941, approx.)
